The brand

Aureliean is a fine jewellery brand for discerning women, dedicated to exquisite materials and British craftsmanship. It works exclusively with 18ct gold, diamonds and quality coloured gemstones, all of which are responsibly sourced. 

Founder and designer Elizabeth Harrison is the creative force behind Aureliean. A barrister by training, what started as a passion on the side of a glittering legal career soon bloomed into a fully-fledged brand. The jewellery house takes its name from Elizabeth’s first-born son, who was in turn was named after the Latin word for golden. True to his name, he was her champion, pushing her to chase her dream of becoming a jewellery designer. 

Aureliean’s contemporary jewellery is designed to adorn and empower women as they chase their own dreams, helping them to elevate their shine as they navigate the matrix of work, family life, friends, personal passions and beliefs. Its wearable luxuries take inspiration from love, light and the art we can see every day in nature, such as the rich colours of natural gemstones. Aureliean jewels are effortless to wear, from first light to the end of the night. 

All Aureliean jewellery is handmade to order by us and each piece passes through the steady hands of our small team of highly skilled craftswomen, who use traditional artisanal skills that have been passed down from generation to generation.

The designer

Originally trained as a barrister, Elizabeth Harrison spent the past 15 years working in London and New York for international and boutique law firms. While her successful legal career kept her busy, in those rare moments of quiet during the constant roster of lunch meetings, skeleton arguments, deal sheets and negotiations, she found herself longing for more colour and creativity in her working life. 

Elizabeth came to realise that she was no longer satisfied with being a jewellery collector and helping friends commission one off bespoke jewels. She wanted to permanently  design her own jewels, and not just for personal pleasure. So, Elizabeth picked up her sketch book, set up a private  atelier in London, and in 2018 Aureliean Fine Jewellery was born. 

In keeping with her go-getter attitude, Elizabeth is a completely self-trained jewellery designer, and as such her designs are true to her own unique vision. Her jewels start life as sketches in her little black book and are then skillfully realised by herself and her small team of talented British goldsmiths. Elizabeth’s love of gemstones led her to train with the renowned Gemological Institute of America. Love remains at the heart of each of Aureliean’s pieces, from inception and stone selection to the final polish.

Aureliean creates everyday luxury jewellery that is made to last, and is careful in selecting the right partners and suppliers to realise these ideals. Each mirrors Aureliean’s own corporate values and must adhere to its strict social responsibility policy.  

The gemstones Aureliean uses are sourced from the best gem-producing regions of the world, with each carefully selected for its colour, clarity and beauty. In line with the brand’s ethical policies, diamonds are only sourced from countries compliant with the Kimberly Process, an international certification scheme that strives to eradicate conflict diamonds. 

Aureliean is proud to support the communities from which its diamonds and gemstones come from. Each year, a percentage of the company’s profits is given back to these communities and is used to support local and government initiatives to improve the lives of the people living within them, with a particular focus on providing women in mining communities with access to healthcare and educational opportunities. 

Aureliean also supports a charity foundation, which was recently set up to help underprivileged women across the globe gain access to better healthcare and education. At home, it supports local London charities through sponsorship and gifting programmes.
